This
highly topical and factual diary tackles the issues of childhood obesity and
explores practical strategies for students and their families to adopt both at
home, at school and in the community. In addition to containing a well
researched “sealed section” for parents, this book contains everything kids
need to know about nutrition, physical activity and the issues surrounding being
overweight or obese. The content is written in a humorous style that is bound to
appeal to all children aged 8 years and over. The information in this book is
closely aligned with current Australian healthy eating guidelines and
recommendations for increasing physical activity.

Pssst!
Wanna know a secret? About six months ago I was the biggest kid in my class - I'm
talking around the belly! I was getting teased, I broke my skateboard just by
standing on it, I even got carted off the school oval in an emergency helicopter
(Ok, that's not exactly true, but I did have to go to the school nurse when I
lost my breath during a lapathon).
Anyway,
I decided to get fit. Lots of people helped me get there. I learned all these
cool healthy recipes and increased my physical activities. It wasn't always easy
but in the end I won the battle of the bulge.
In
fact, I am so glad I got rid of all my chunky blubber, I thought I might just
let you have a sneaky peek at my life, to find out how I did it.
So
welcome to Zac's diary – a diary of a fit kid, not a fat kid.
